發揚社工精神

很多人在選擇自己事業時,都是基於一份使命感。社工出身的姜敏華(Teresa)和邵煒才(Garmon) 同樣有顆熱愛助人的心,與 NU SKIN 如新可謂一拍即合。Teresa 愛上 NU SKIN 團隊手心相連的精神,Garmon欣賞品牌以強大而完善的系統改善人的生活。人性化的企業文化讓兩夫婦找到社福界以外的平台實踐使命,為他人帶來更有效和實際的幫助。

二人開始做 NU SKIN 時曾經歷過一些辛酸。Teresa指初時家人不理解 NU SKIN ,期望她能專注於社工專業,很反對她花大量時間經營NU SKIN,曾感到很孤獨。Garmon憶述起步時連身邊的社工朋友也很懷疑他們的選擇:「自己在直銷事業找到理想,一心想與其他社工朋友分享,對方卻以為我們只想賺錢,甚至拒絕和疏遠自己。」在低潮的時候,他們始終保持自己最初的使命感,堅定信心,不曾放棄。

簡樸踏實的起步期

早年兩夫婦資金有限,只能在舊樓設立中心,更要自己動手裝修。Garmon笑言當時的環境很簡陋,親手搭建的講台經常會「彈吓彈吓」,而洗手間的沖水聲更是大得連外面的人也能清楚聽到,他續說:「那段時期雖然資源不足,但團隊很齊心,一同簡樸地經營 NU SKIN ,有很多有趣的快樂回憶。」

一切從修身做起

二人認為經營 NU SKIN 事業,與自己當初投身社會工作的理念並沒有相違背,反而更能貫徹社工精神。Teresa強調社工精神就是助人自助,但以往的工作難以令有需要的人達到經濟自主,而 NU SKIN 就有機會做到這點:「想要經營 NU SKIN 事業要有顆願意貢獻的心。這與我的志向很配合,自己喜歡幫人,但不是為個別情況伸出援手那種幫忙,而是要為人創造環境和條件那種層次。」

Teresa熱愛傳統中國文化,並認為當中很多思想與經營之道不謀而合。如一句「修身齊家治國平天下」,便道出了 NU SKIN 的真諦。她說:「成就是從個人做起。我們每天要做好自己,更新自己,靠自己的生命感動別人。經營的過程可以提升自己的IQ、EQ 和AQ,讓我看到自己的正面改變,更欣賞自己,也只有這樣我才能感染他人。」

領袖首重「智、信、仁、勇、嚴」

正因為修身這麼重要,他們會以獨特的方式幫助夥伴提升自己。讀心理學出身的Garmon,是團隊的主要培訓導師,他為夥伴設計了檢視自己的體驗:「我的培訓方式是通過感性體驗,讓人面對自己的心靈,處理好自己一些負面經歷、情緒和弱點,這樣才可幫助他們激發潛能。由於我比較開朗好動,所以傾向在培訓中融入更多實戰經驗。」

早在經營 NU SKIN 前,Garmon已累積了豐富的領袖訓練經驗,現在除了培訓團隊,亦有為社福界培訓人才。問他怎樣才算是出色的領袖,他引用了《孫子兵法》中提到的「智、信、仁、勇、嚴」,認為領袖應該具備這五大條件:「智指知識、智慧;信指誠信,要說到做到;仁指仁愛、仁德;勇指敢於帶頭,為別人作示範;嚴就是嚴格,對自己和別人有要求。達到這五點便能算是全方位成功,也自然會成為別人的榜樣。」

延續關懷的力量

展望未來,兩夫婦仍然心繫一群有需要的人。Teresa表示父母年輕時從揚州來港謀生,生活艱苦,她自小便體會到基層的辛酸:「所以希望為生活有困難的人帶來更多正面影響,並做到揚名聲顯父母。」至於Garmon就想成立一所大學,他解釋:「其實有不少年輕人渴望成功,但培訓知識和資源不足,而且很多商家的品德仍有待提高。希望將來能開辦直銷大學讓這批年輕人接受優質培訓,幫助他們實現理想。」

It’s not easy to describe with words the excitement and satisfaction Teresa got from Nu Skin business when she was finally promoted as Millionaire Circle Winner. Her recent achievement was a remarkable milestone in her business and the fruits of her hard work.

"Neither travelling around the world nor retiring rich is my dream life. What I really want is to deliver the positive image and true values of direct selling industry to the public. No matter how many difficulties I’ll face, I’ll do my best to gather the efforts of everyone in order to attain my goal," Teresa said.

Teresa, who was a social worker, always has a sincere heart to help the needy. However, due to financial limitation, she was unable to help all the people in need in the community. When she met the Nu Skin business, she knows the opportunity approached. In Nu Skin business, she can help others by introducing them an opportunity that can help improve their lives. Nu Skin is a people’s business and its culture of helping others succeed drives everyone in this business to success.

"Talents are extremely vital to the success of an enterprise. With the concerted efforts from the dedicated talents of my group and the great support from the Company, I try to develop the potential of everyone to the fullest," Teresa said.

As Hong Kong entrepreneur Mr Li Ka-shing says, knowledge changes fate. Many Hong Kong people are now working further hard to make progress to increase their competence and attain a higher social status. To promote the positive image of direct selling industry, distributors, therefore, should possess professionalism and good conduct. For this, Teresa’s utmost desire is to establish an institution for direct selling practitioners. "Different from those mainstreamed institutions, this institution would focus on training the direct selling practitioners to be intelligent, confident, humane, courageous and disciplined. I strongly believe if we could do our best in all these aspects, our business will have a much brighter future," Teresa said.
